How We Got Here
Smith Pecan Shelling Company was started in 1963 by my Grandfather, R. Clayton Smith. He had previously bought and sold pecans with his father in their wholesale business, R. Derrill Smith and Son, in downtown Newberry, S.C. Since 1963, we have operated in two locations. We have been at our current location for almost 25 years. We continue to utilize the same pecan cracking and shelling machines that my Grandfather used in 1963.
My father, Bobby Smith, took over the business in 1997. He continued the family business until his passing in 2017. After much discussion, we decided to continue the family business by offering the same great service that we have since 1963.
We look forward to serving Newberry and the surrounding communities for many years to come.

WE CRACK AND SHELL PECANS
We offer cracking only and cracking and shelling, which removes about 90% of the pecan shell. There is a 25 lb minimum for the shelling service.
